The reserve is looking beautiful with the trees in leaf and the flowers blooming, new life continues to emerge with the welcome of new chicks each week. It is such a special time here at Elmley. If you've visited Elmley recently, you may have caught a glimpse of our new arrivals as you approach Kingshill Farm...we are so excited to share that we have two new stunning huts for you to stay in!

The new huts are ready for you to enjoy a nature escape this half-term, with wild baths under the warm sky, surrounded by spectacular wildlife…bliss.
As with all our huts, both new additions have been bespokely designed for their setting, to immerse our guests in the nature at Elmley, in complete comfort.
The new huts are nestled into the beautiful bank north of Kingshill Farm, and perfectly angled to give spectacular wild vistas over the Reserve. We have positioned the huts lower down, and with unique sloping rooves ending in huge glazed ends, inside you really feel that you are at one with the marshes and waterways.
Both huts are 'Cabins' and include the following:
- Kingsize bed
- An extra pull-out/fold-up double bed suitable for children 10 years and under
- An inside kitchenette with sink, hob and fridge
- Indoor woodburner
- Ensuite shower room with a view
- Outdoor roll-top bath bath
- Outdoor firepit
Everything you need for a peaceful escape in the most beautiful setting.
The huts are in our Cabins category, so to book please select Cabin for the date of your choice and note in the requirements box that you would like one of the new ones!
If you've been following Elmley's journey for a little while, you'll know that we do spend a lot of time on the hut designs, making sure they celebrate Elmley's unique setting and the heritage of this special place, and we do like to reflect this in our hut names.
James' Hide sits nearby to Martha's Hut, James Dodd was Martha Dodd's husband - Martha being Elmley's longest resident, having lived on Elmley for at least 87 years, over the 19th and early 20th Century. It is so lovely to now have James' Hide alongside Martha's Hut - welcome to the Dodds! (and well if you go into James' you'll understand the Hide bit: nestled within the landscape the unique sloping roof and huge glass end offers the most incredible private wildlife watching Hide.) The Isle sits the furthest north. It has a huge wide view across the Reserve and the Swale over to the mainland. We love our home on the Isle of Sheppey, it is a special place that is full of wildlife, rich in history, adorned with blue flag beaches and has an amazing community. It only feels right to celebrate this special place with 'The Isle' sitting proudly towards the Island.
